How to Make a Biography

Creating a biography or autobiography is a way of preserving the legacy and memoirs of one’s life. Most people who have biographies are those who are prominent, famous, or leaders who have created a huge impact to the world or in the lives of the people around them. However, whatever situation or experience one has, it is also possible to write one’s own biography – an autobiography – or a biography of someone else. Writing a biography is like expressing oneself and the emotions felt too, aside from the accounts and details in life. This helps a reader really feel the journey as they would read the book.

Making biographies is not as uncommon as many people think. In the actual sense, a lot of us actually write biographies or autobiographies almost every day. These come in the forms of answering autographs, writing down a day’s events in one’s diary, jotting down plans and altering them in one’s planner, and even to those as trivial as posting a status or tweeting about the day. No matter what others say, these present ways of communicating are also methods of creating logs, inputting certain information about one’s life. Blogging for instance, is a trend, which many youth nowadays use as a form of diary. In a way, the accounts written in all those blogs combined are the blogger’s life, more or less.

A formal biography would include basic details of the person the book or account is about. These are the place and date of birth, and if the person has died, details of death as well. Most of the time, the person’s family background and relatives would be mentioned, along with the accomplishments gained in life. The major occurrences and events in the life of the person are also included, especially those which have created an impact to the lives of others as well. And finally, many of the biographies include the societal effects and significance brought about by the acts and decisions made by the person.
